Hiking, trekking and biking in the Dolomites of Corvara, Alta Badia
Corvara is one of the most renowned areas of the Dolomites and South Tyrol: thanks to the wonderful ski slopes during the winter, but also for the breathtaking summer vistas opening up to the hikers, bikers or those who want to relax in a traditional and unspoilt landscape.
Corvara lies at 1.560 m, in a wide and sunny green valley at the foot of the towering Sasongher and surrounded by the woods of Col Alt, Boè, Campolongo and Pralongià. The Dolomites encircling it are among the most famous and beautiful routes and walks for those who love trekking and hiking in South Tyrol. Some of these start directly from the track in front of Garni Oskar. No less than two Natural Parks are in the immediate vicinity: Puez Odles and Fanes Sennes Braies, both part of the Dolomites Unesco heritage.
The biking enthusiasts will surely know the name Corvara, since more than 25 years location of the Maratona dles Dolomites, a successful international cyclosportive event. Not only athletes can climb up the Dolomites' passes on which the race is run, but every biker can try his skill on them, as the yearly Sella Ronda Bike Day demonstrates. Mountain bikers are also welcome in Alta Badia and South Tyrol, where they will find routes and itineraries for every level and taste, ski lifts to bring the bike on the mountain and wonderful vistas.
